What began in the 1990s as a modest bamboo raft service evolved into the province's most recognized culinary attraction after local entrepreneurs realized the twenty-kilometer stretch between Loboc town and the Busay Falls junction offered calm water, overhanging mahogany canopy, and a natural theater for cultural performance. The twin-hulled pontoon boats that now serve buffet lunches were designed to navigate the river's shallowest bends during dry season while accommodating forty to sixty guests at a time.
Loboc River cruise tours operate as a synchronized ecosystem. Each vessel departs from the Loay Bridge dock in Poblacion Sawang on a fixed circuit, passing the Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park, the remnants of stone-walled Spanish-era settlements, and a mid-route performance stage where local children's choirs sing folk standards in Visayan and English.
